Super Natural 15: The best of today!
Lina took the train to Maremma, Tuscany, a little more than a year ago, to support Il Pingro with the harvest. At last, we have received the bottles of wine and can share them with you. If you ask us, the wine is gloulicious! To top up this box, we added two bottles of a wine that is new to us. This summer we stopped by Tenuta Foresto in Piedmont and got to try a lovely, light wine that immediately made us thirsty for more. The wines in Super Natural 15 box are the best of today, produced by young competent winemakers who are not afraid to experiment.

Tenuta Foresto, Diavola Rosso, 2022
Type: Red
Grape: Brachetto 100%
Place of cultivation: Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont
Price per bottle: SEK 250
Brachetto is a relatively unknown grape which is mainly used to make sweet red wine in Alessandria or Asti in the eastern parts of Piedmont. When Francesco took over the estate, there were a few rows of Brachetto in the vineyard. As always, he decided to try something new, so instead of making the sweet wine, he let it ferment until completely dry.
Lucky for us, because here we have a light red, easy but at the same time elegant wine that is very drinkable. Aromatic with red berries, and sun-drenched strawberries, without being the least bit jammy, and with velvety tannins, you enjoy this wine in mouthfuls rather than sips. We loved pairing it with fermented potato chips, light bread with anchovy butter, and yes, Ahlgrens Bilar - Swedish candy cars.
Il Pingro Bianco 2023, GR15652, IGT Toscana Bianco
Type: Orange
Grape: Procanico, Ansonica
Place: Marina di Grosseto, Maremma, Tuscany
It is a wine made from two local and relatively unknown white grape varieties: Procanico and Ansonica. The Procanico grapes are pressed directly after harvest, while the Ansonica grapes macerate with the skins for approximately fifteen days. Once both grapes are through fermentation, the must is blended, and the wine is aged in cement tanks for about a year.
The result is a summery and slightly saline wine to be enjoyed well chilled on hot days. Initially modest on the nose, but with a little time and air, you'll detect sun-ripened stone fruit, citrus, and light green herbs. In the mouth, the power from the grape skins emerges as gentle yet distinct tannins, accompanied by a touch of saltiness and minerality that reminds you of its origin. Pair this wine with dill-flavored chips or fresh seafood.
Il Pingro Rosso 2023, GR15652, IGT Toscana Rosso
Type: Orange
Grape: Sangiovese
Place: Marina di Grosseto, Maremma, Tuscany
The grape is Tuscany's queen Sangiovese. However, the taste is anything but classic. Here we have a lighter and berry-driven wine that is best served chilled. The grapes are handpicked and undergo fermentation with the skins, mixing whole clusters and destemmed grapes. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks before being ready for bottling in just under a year. Nothing is added or taken away from the bottle.
The wine reveals classic Sangiovese markers such as cherries, raspberries, and cranberries, along with slender tannins and hints of rosemary and thyme. This wine possesses a juicy lightness that pairs well with a picnic, accompanied by a freshly broken baguette and some selected cheeses, or on a summer buffet table. With only 11% alcohol, Il Pingro Rosso is perfectly suited for the picnic basket.

Super Natural 14: Three shades of Orange
Skin contact is our kind of contact! At last we have a drop and it's a special one. After a messy spring including various hospital stays, we are now back and ready to deliver a strong summer box for those of you who like orange wine. Don't despair if you're an orange wine skeptic (who is??) - because this is something completely different from the usual stuff. Tenuta Foresto from Piedmont has worked wonders with no less than three different orange wines. A Muscat, a Cortese and a Pét Nat where both of the above-mentioned grapes are combined. These are wines to enjoy really cold during your summer events. All the wines are more than enough just as they are, but of course we send you some ideas for pairings as you wished.

Tenuta Foresto, Favonio, 2022
Type: Orange
Grape: Muscat 100%
Place of cultivation: Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont
Favonio is a well-balanced orange wine with a lot of everything. Someone wrote that Tenuta Foresto has succeeded in turning Piedmont's most famous white grape into a concentrate of elegance and juiciness, and we can only agree. The grapes have been fermented with the skins in cement tanks for about two weeks before being aged for 10 months in large, old oak barrels. This is a returning favorite in our collective, and for good reason, it is easy to love! On the nose, you might feel nectarines, oranges, honey, and herbs. In the mouth, you will welcome an elegant wine but at the same time, a lot of expression building up. Drink as it is, but if you want to eat something else, grilled vegetables, creamy gorgonzola with sourdough bread or white bean hummus with grilled peaches are perfect seasonal matches.
Tenuta Foresto, Fuser, 2022
Type: Orange Pét Nat
Grape: Equal parts Muscat and Cortese
Place: Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont
Pét Nat at its best, this is sunshine in a bottle. The wine is straight out an experiment, where Francesco has made a Pét Nat consisting of equal parts Muscat and Cortese. You can guess that we were happy to get our hands on some of the few bottles produced. The wine is just the right amount of bubbly, not too much, and the round flavors of the muscat grapes (imagine honey and ripe nectarines) together with light fresh notes from Cortese marry perfectly. Chill very well and put on your sunglasses. We dare to promise that you will enjoy it.
Tenuta Foresto, Leuto, 2022
Type: Orange
Grape: Cortese 100%
Place of cultivation: Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont
Leuto is vinified in the exact same way as Favonio, but here we have the Cortese grape instead, which gives a slightly lighter, tighter and more discreet wine. There is still a lot going on and this is one of those wines where you can get stuck with your nose in the glass because you are constantly discovering new aromas. Many of the aromas circulate around herbs and stone fruit, and in the mouth there is added citrus and that salinity that we love, especially in summer. A well-structured and intense wine that goes well with matured cheeses, fatty fish but also with Asian dishes with a lot of sweetness and acidity, such as papaya salad or Bao.
Super Natural 12: Terre di Giotto
Michele Lorenzetti is back and we filled a whole case with his wines to give them the attention they deserve. As we told you before, Michele is a biologist at heart and has been working for 20 years, educating winegrowers and supporting them in the transition to biodynamic, regenerative cultivation. Early in his career, however, he felt the need of more practical experience and decided to start a small wine production. How happy we are about this decision! We love the wines and Michele's work, and we are not alone. He recently received the award "agronomist of the year" from the prestigious magazine Guida Vini di Vignaioli Artigiani, which highlights the most outstanding profiles in natural wine every year.
This wine box consists of two bottles of white Nostrale Bianco, two bottles of red Nostrale Rosso, and two bottles of golden Pet-Nat. It is an excellent foundation to have at home now that the meteorological spring has (apparently) made its entrance and the pollen allergy is waiting around the corner. And one more thing, since Michele only produces about 1000 bottles of each wine, take the opportunity to get your hands on these.
The opportunity does not come very often. Enjoy!

Pam, 2022, IGT Toscana Bianco
Type: Pet-Nat
Grape: Trebbiano and Malvasia di Candia
Place of cultivation: Apennines in northern
Tuscany
PAM is a glowing Pet-Nat with small and pretty bubbles. The wine consists of Trebbiano and Malvasia di Candia grapes. Michele has only made a few vintages of the wine. After the ripe grapes have been harvested by hand, they have fermented spontaneously in smaller steel tanks. When the juice has become wine, it is bottled, and topped up with new juice from the same harvest, stored in the freezer, before everything ferments a little more in the bottle. The result is a gorgeous, and delicious Pet-Nat. On the nose, it is luxurious with aromas of bread, white flowers, and yellow fruit that bring to ciders to mind. In the mouth, citrus fruits and a careful acidity, together with breezy terroir. If we are to recommend something to go with, it would be charred spring onions with a mild romesco sauce.
Terre di Giotto, Nostrale Bianco, 2022, IGT Toscana Bianco
Type: White
Grape: Trebbiano 60%, Malvasia di Candia 40%
Place of cultivation: Apennines in northern Tuscany
We drank Nostrale Bianco for the first time at an enoteca in Florence and were instantly hooked. It is a classic blend of Tuscan white grapes from vines planted in 1972. The grapes are fermented in Georgian amphorae (terracotta vessels integrated into the floor of the wine cellar) for six months before the wine is bottled. A full-bodied but crisp white with sensations of acacia flowers, lemon peel, and yellow plums, balanced by herbs and the minerals we like so much. Last time we had it with parmesan, lightly roasted cherry tomatoes and salted almonds. It was delicious.
Terre di Giotto, Nostrale Rosso, 2022, IGT Toscana Rosso
Type: Red
Grape: Sangiovese 60%, Canaiolo 30%, Malvasia Nera 10%
Place of cultivation: Apennines in northern Tuscany
Nostrale Rosso is produced in almost the same way as the white wine, but the grapes are instead Tuscany's crown jewel Sangiovese spiced up with Canaiolo and a little Malvasia Nera. The wine is fermented spontaneously in Georgian amphorae. Think fresh cherries and sunny ripe yellow plums, with a slightly peppery heat. We have a wine that likes to socialize around pasta but also works well with more flavorful but balanced starters such as smoked peppers or dried charcuterie. In our opinion the 2022 is even more fine-tuned and precise in its style, which we love.
