Bakkanali
Referencing the Bacchanalia; unofficial, privately funded popular Roman festivals of Bacchus, is a new small winery run by Ugo and Sebastian. They are two young but experienced winemakers who only a couple of years ago realized their dream of a joint project when they were able to take over a small farm on the slopes of Monte Amiata, 30 minutes from Montalcino in Tuscany. Monte Amiata is a volcano, inactive for 180 000 years, and rich in limestone and quartz. The duo hopes to create something new and interesting with their background in the classic Montalcino but with influences from, among other things, Burgundy and the Jura.
2022 is the first year of Bakkanali wines and they have received excellent reviews. We are embarrassingly proud of being the ones to introduce Bakkanali in our first box, Supernatural 01. These guys are deeply talented and have a bright future ahead of them.
